37 wasn't the answer...

Well, it's been a challenge to keep up the blog lately. There have been multiple attempts to post entries about Sarah's adventures in swimming. The addition of video to these posts has severely hampered the file transfer some reason. Eventually, it will get accomplished.

As for 37... Sarah had to pick a number between 1 and 40. This would determine which inventor she would get to profile for her first research project in science class. With such luminaries as Newton, Edison, da Vinci and Ford in the mix, it seemed like an ideal situation to get a great inventor to write about.

Hiding behind door 37 was..... Ed Lowe. Ed Lowe was an industrial absorbents salesman from St. Paul, Minn. who invented that most pivotal substance .... kitty litter. meow.

Needless to say, Sarah was a bit disappointed, but she did find some interesting stories about how kitty litter came into being. It seems that Ed wanted to help out his neighbor (who owned a cat coincidentally) to keep down the paw prints from the ashes he had been using in the litter box. Pet store owners then told him that it would never sell. He decided to give away free samples.. the rest is a scoop you might say. This revelation was followed by an article: "The Rise and Fall of Clumping". (NO, I DID NOT MAKE THAT UP!!!!)

So as you ponder the meaning of life, keep in mind that the answer is NOT 37. Five more might work however.

I must say, you have a very informative blog. I did not know that Ed Lowe invented kitty litter! I also love the headline!

Good luck with those video posts!
